Kay's Coffee Cake

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
½ tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream

Topping:
½ cup chopped pecans
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. sugar

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add vanilla, 1 cup flour, baking powder and salt. Blend. Add the other cup flour and blend. Add sour cream. Pour ½ the batter in a greased tube or bundt pan. Add ½ the topping. Pour remaining batter on top and add remaining topping. Bake @ 350º for 50-55 minutes. Freezes well. (Meredith & Diane bake this for neighbors at Christmas. The recipe came from a friend of Meredith's.)
