Meg's Monster Cookies

½ cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup + 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
3 large eggs
2 cups creamy peanut butter
¾ tsp. light corn syrup
¼ tsp. vanilla extract
4 ½ cups regular oats, uncooked
2 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup M & M's
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate morsels

Beat butter at medium speed until creamy; gradually add sugars and beat well. Add eggs, peanut butter, corn syrup and vanilla; beat well. Add oats, soda and salt; stir well. Stir in M & M's and morsels. (Dough will be stiff.) Pack dough into a ¼ cup measuring cup. Drop dough 4 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Lightly press each cookie with fingertips into a 3 ½ inch circle. Bake @ 350º for 12-15 minutes (centers of cookies will be slightly soft.) Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks, and cool completely. Makes about 2 ½ dozen.
