Miss Pat's Tallerine

1 8 oz. pkg. shoestring egg noodles
2 lbs. ground beef
2 large onions, chopped
½ bell pepper, chopped
2 garlic buds, chopped
2 tsp. chili powder
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1 can tomato soup
1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes
1 ½ lbs. Amer. cheese, grated
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown beef in small amount of shortening; add onions and bell pepper and cook until tender. Add garlic, chili powder, salt and pepper. While beef is cooking, boil noodles until tender. Put half of the cooked noodles in bottom of 3 qt. casserole, spread meat mixture over noodles, then corn and layer of grated cheese. Save some cheese for topping. Spread remaining noodles on top. Pour on 1 can tomato soup diluted with half can water, then Ro-Tel. Cook 1 to 1 ½ hours @ 250° or 300°. Just before removing from oven, sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Great for company or church suppers.
